Small Business Consulting Services (SBCS) is a business operated by Lakehead University Honours Bachelor of Commerce students successfully utilizes student education to serve the needs of the region. The business operates out of the Braun Building on the Lakehead University campus and through its non-profit status, is able to provide assistance at highly affordable fees. SBCS employees maintain full-time business hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the school year. They have experience in the areas of marketing, accounting, economics, finance, human resources, information systems and operations management.
Services offered by SBCS are the following:
- Business plan development
- Marketing research and analysis
- Research studies
- Feasibility studies
- Operational reviews
- Fundraising plans and applications

Lakehead University Business Association
Lakehead University Business Association (LUBA) is a social club for all undergraduate business students at Lakehead University.
LUBA's goals are as followed:
- to put on social and networking events for business students
- to foster relationships between students and faculty
